CHINESE NEW YEAR

Planning a Chinese New Year-themed event for your company but not sure where to start? Want to incorporate traditional Chinese elements into your event while still keeping professionalism in mind in line with the corporate environment? Today we’re going to discuss four Chinese New Year decor ideas to incorporate into your events using our artificial trees.

4 ways to use artificial trees for CHINESE NEW YEAR celebrations

1) Trees with red LED lights:

The colour red is traditionally used for Chinese New Year decorations. The colour red represents fire, which, according to tradition, has the ability to drive away misfortune and is therefore associated with good fortune and happiness. People dress in red, write poems on red paper, make red ornamental objects, and give "luck money" to children in red envelopes to celebrate the holiday. As part of the red elements for Chinese New Year celebrations, we have red-lit trees that can be used as part of the decoration for the occasion.

2) Decorate the trees with red paper lanterns and money pockets (Hong Bao):

During the Chinese New Year celebrations, it is not uncommon to see red paper lanterns hung on trees in the streets, on the roofs of office buildings, and on the doors of houses. It is believed that hanging a red lantern will drive off bad luck.

When it comes to celebrating the new year, paper lanterns are a beautiful and decorative option. Consider using lanterns as functional sources of light at your event, as a unique alternative to the usual centrepiece, or even hanging them from our trees to create a magical atmosphere.

What about hong bao or money pockets, for example? In accordance with traditional norms, hong bao is money that is typically handed to children in red envelopes during the Chinese New Year's celebration in hopes of bringing them growth and success. However, we may use the idea in a more creative manner by hanging them from trees.

3) Wishing Well Trees:

During Chinese New Year, people travel to Hong Kong to see the very old trees and to leave their wishes. People write their wishes on red wish paper and then tie them to oranges with colourful ribbons. What about incorporating the same idea into your event using an artificial tree?

4) Blooming trees:

Cherry blossoms, also known as Sakura trees, are a sign of Spring and are therefore placed during the Chinese New Year to signify a fresh start and a prosperous New Year. Its subtle flowers make the Cherry Blossom tree an amazing option to add a delicate touch to a special area in your decor. The branches of the Cherry Blossom tree can be decorated with carefully folded Hong Boa packets and other small decorative items, much like a Christmas tree.
